UPITS-2026 to Showcase Sambhal’s Horn-Bone Craft and Sonpapdi to Global Buyers

Sambhal: Sambhal’s traditional craftsmanship and culinary heritage are set to receive an international platform at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS-2026), scheduled from September 25 to 29 at India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.

Under the state’s One District One Product (ODOP), One District One Cuisine (ODOC) and MSME initiatives, seven enterprises and artisans from Sambhal have been allotted stalls across different exhibition halls. The five-day trade show, spread over more than 1.10 lakh square metres, is expected to feature over 2,400 exhibitors and attract international buyers and traders.

Sambhal’s globally recognised horn and bone craft will be showcased in Hall 9, the ODOP Pavilion. Artisans Mohammad Arif and Shah Alam have been allotted stalls to display handcrafted products made from horn and bone. Amazing Craft Home’s Vikas Jain has also been given four stalls to showcase wooden handicrafts.

The district will also have a presence in the MSME and export-focused sections. Zubair Umar, representing the firm Zubair Umar Mr Zubair, will display products combining horn and bone with resin art and wooden craft in Hall 10.

In Hall 14, under the Handicrafts Welfare Association, Kamal Kaushal Varshney of Neelkanth Overseas and Shahadat Hussain will showcase their products. In Hall 11, Mohammad Aqib of Decor World Expo will present export-quality products from Sambhal under the Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Council.

Sambhal’s famous Sonpapdi will also get a dedicated international showcase. Under the ODOC initiative, Rajendra Kumar of Daksh Sweet Centre will represent the district in Hall 16, where visitors, traders and international buyers will be introduced to the traditional sweet.

Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Industries, District Industries and Enterprise Promotion Centre, Sambhal, said UPITS-2026 offers local entrepreneurs and artisans an opportunity to establish their products in international markets. He said the administration aims to connect traditional horn-bone crafts and local food products with major domestic and overseas buyers, creating opportunities for new orders, stronger exports and improved incomes for artisans.
